The Pod
Restaurant in Philadelphia is part of Stephen Starr’s restaurant
empire, comprised of several high-class, highbrow locations. This time, Starr offers a
casually elegant restaurant serving up Japanese and general Asian
cuisine. The
concept for the design of the space was the brain child of Manhattan’s
David Rockwell. The
famous designer was influenced to create the starship-like interior of
the Pod Restaurant in Philadelphia by the films “Sleeper” and “2001: A Space Odyssey”. Located between
36th and 37th Streets in
Philadelphia’s “University City” area, Starr’s retro-modern Pod
Restaurant in Philadelphia is full of happy patrons sipping traditional
Japanese sake, nursing a beer, and savoring rainbow-colored cocktails. Guests can nibble on
delicious appetizers and entrees such as fresh sushi, dim sum, and
other savory Pan-Asian offerings served up in style by executive chefs
Michael Schulson, Hiroyuki Zama Tanaka, and Erik Preston and their
highly capable, well-trained team. Boasting such
amenities as a full bar, available counter seating, and take-out or
late night cuisine, the Pod Restaurant in Philadelphia can accommodate
almost any desire. Call
ahead for fabulous private banquet facilities, available for anywhere
from 12 to 50 people. Banquet
dining is offered with a prix fixe menu.
Valet parking is available seven days a week, but
several privately owned parking lots are also open for self-service
parking within the area. Reservations
